Resizing is taking way to long now

Hello Forum,

First time here so I hope this makes sense. Been using PSP for several years now. First started out with version 4.

I have a website that has over 13,000 jpegs of civil war sites in the USA. I have over 120 contributors that send me photos to process for the Website (http://www.civilwaralbum.com). Most of the images are 350 pixels wide. For years I have been resizing the photos with no problems. Here lately it is taking forever for a photo to resize to 350 or larger. Some images I have are 800 to approximately 1500 pixels wide. Most of the larger file sizes are historical markers, interpretive markers, detail of monuments, etc. But 90 percent are 350 wide.

Here is the problem: Up until a few days ago it would take only a second or two to resize a 2200 pixel image to 350. Now it is taking over a minute to do the same. I haven't installed anything new on the computer. I am running a gig of ram. Today I thought about increasing the ram which I should probably do anyway. But heck, it has been resizing just fine with the 1 gig.

Could it be a memory problem or maybe something is not configured properly, just don't know. I am running PSP 8.1. The only thing I use PSP for is resizing images and sometimes using the One Step Photo Fix. I don't print the photos just process them for web use only.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I'm working with PSP 8.0 and am trying to create a simple image. I'm able to click the text tool and type in text, but the menu is missing so it won't let me adjust the font sizes or pick a font face. How do I get this visible. I've been trying for an hour, so I'm about out of patience, including their help menu which wasn't so helpful. If someone could write some instructions on how to access this or make it visible I'd really appreciate it.

Thank You,
Brian Garvin

I am an angler and like to take pictures of fish I catch before returning them .I thought it would be a nice idea to have a small image of the fly used in the bottom of the picture of the fish that was caught .
I managed to do this with a small square image of the fly using "copy" and "paste as new layer" but it would look better if the image was circular .Is this possible ?
I had a search but failed to come up with an answer.
