Here is an example of a pic before saving:

(actual pic is MUCH bigger, containing lots of other graphics).

Then, after I do some fills, touchups, etc. and then save the image and reload, I often get this:

I've tried decreasing the amount of color depth and some other stuff but I can't stop this from happening.

Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening and how I can stop it?

It doesn't appear to distort the size of the image just the view.
Please can anyone help me I know I've probably set something up wrong but I just can't see what it is and it's driving me nuts .
