Sometimes (not always) I find some of my graphics have been 'speckled' and I cannot figure out why this is happening.

Here is an example of a pic before saving:

http://www.firish.com/Dump1.jpg

(actual pic is MUCH bigger, containing lots of other graphics).

Then, after I do some fills, touchups, etc. and then save the image and reload, I often get this:

http://www.firish.com/Dump3.jpg

I've tried decreasing the amount of color depth and some other stuff but I can't stop this from happening.

Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening and how I can stop it?

Thanks!

I can get the text to show up wrapped inside a preset shape of circle which is solid color. Once the text is in place, I want the colored circle to not be visible. Dispite playing with Layers, I can't get the colored area to vanish while maintaining the text. I also can't copy the image and paste.

I've read the help but the instructions seem to be leaving something out or I'm not understanding them.

PSP 9

Thanks
