  1. How do I post a reply to a message?
    • While you are still in the screen of the message to which you want to reply, scroll down to the end of the message. There you will find 5 links: one for a previous article, one for the next article, one to post a new message on the forum, and one to reply to the current message, and one to return to the main forum page. Click on the link that says "reply" and fill in the form.
    • You may leave the subject field as it is, or you can change it.
    • Put your name or nickname in the name field and your e-mail address in the email field (optional)
    • Choose an icon that best represents the mood of your message
    • If you would like to receive a notice if someone replies to your message, check the "receive follow ups by mail" box (you must have your e-mail address filled out for this option.
    • Once you have completed your own message, you simply click on the Post button to automatically add your post to the thread, or Preview if you want to see what it looks like first.

  2. How do I post a new message?
    • In the main window of the Message Forum you will see "Post New Article" at the top and bottom of the screen. Clicking on one of these links will bring you to a screen where you can post a new message. This will start a new thread on the forum.

  3. I goofed up a message, can I delete it?
    • Sorry, once a message has been posted it stays there. To prevent an error in a message, use the Preview button and double check it for spelling, wording and any HTML code you have used before sending it. IF your post is a serious mistake and you need it edited or deleted, please complete the Edit/Delete Request Form

  4. How do I create a clickable link in my message?
    • Sometimes you might want to create a link in your message that will bring readers to your site or send you an e-mail. Here is how to create a link in the message of your post:
      1. Create an e-mail link:
        • Use the following code and insert your own e-mail address where "your_e-mail_address.com" is shown.
        • <a href="mailto:your_e-mail_address.com">your_e-mail_address.com</a>
        • The results will look like this: your_e-mail_address.com
      2. Create a link to your Web page:
        • Use the following code to insert a link to your Web page. Insert your URL where "your_URL_here" is shown. You need to include the entire URL so it reads as: http://www.anywhere.com, anywhere.com is where your Web site address should be put:
        • <a href="your_URL_here">your_URL_here</a>
        • The results will look like this in your message: your_URL_here

  5. How do I post an image in my message?
    • This is the most commonly asked question. Posting an image in the forum works the same way as posting an image on your web page. Once you understand how it works, it will be simple for you to post an image in the forum too!
    • Before you can post an image to the forum, you must have the graphic uploaded to your Web site.
    • Use the following example to post your own image:
      • For this example we will use the following information as our graphic and Web site information. You will need to replace this information with your graphic file name and your own URL:
        1. Example Graphic File Name: image.gif
        2. Example URL where the image is: http://www.pspug.org/pix/
      • Since the example image is uploaded to the above URL, the actual URL to the image is: http://www.pspug.org/images/image.gif
      • Here is the code used to place the image in a message:
        <img src="http://www.pspug.org/images/image.gif">

  6. When is the Message Forum cleaned or archived?
The Message Forum is archived automatically when the board reaches 300 posts. This generally happens once every 7-10 days. If you posted a message prior to it being archived and would like to post it again, feel free to do so.

  7. Do you keep the previous weeks' messages saved somewhere?
    • At the bottom of the main Message Forum page, there are links to past forum archives. We generally do not keep more than 4 archived forums.

  8. I am not a member, can I use the Message Forum anyway?
    • The Message Forum is here to help all those who use Paint Shop Pro and have questions regarding the program, graphics and other related information. You should feel free to post there regardless of membership. Joining the Paint Shop Pro Users Group is free and provides added benefits. Why not join?

  9. I can't seem to access the Message Forum. What should I do?

  10. I posted a message and it didn't go where I wanted it to, why?
    • You may not have been in the message to which you wanted to reply. Before posting a response, always check to make sure you are, in fact, in the message to which you want to respond.

  11. I have a question that is not related to Paint Shop Pro, can I ask it here?
    • We welcome all comments, questions and even personal posts as long as they follow our Netiquette guidelines. We do NOT however, permit messages that "advertise" someone's business, adult materials or offensive language.

This group is an online community. This means it is based on a more personal level than a standard newsgroup. Feel free to use the forum to get to know each other better. Remember, if you want to chat with others, use our Chat room! It is open 24 hours a day and you will often find others there socializing.

  12. I have a complaint to make, who do I contact?
    • If you need to make comments or complaints, please e-mail forum@pspug.org. You should get a response within 48 hours.
    • For complaints about other posts please read the Netiquette guidelines. This may help you resolve a matter quicker. You can also fill out the Edit/Delete Request Form

  13. I posted a message to the forum and now I am being flamed. What should I do?
    • This is a friendly group of people and we do try to control the amount of flaming that may happen now and then. If you have experienced a problem in this area and have read the Netiquette information and feel you still need help, please e-mail forum@pspug.org.

  14. I posted a question to the forum and no one replied. How do I get the answers I need?
    • Once in a great while, a post may go unanswered for a few days. This is because most people do not come to the forum on a daily basis. You should allow at least two or three days for a response. After that time, you may want to post your question again and try rephrasing it. Sometimes we do not understand the question or we are not knowledgeable in the area you need help with.
    • If your question is a technical question about Paint Shop pro, and has not been answered, you should contact Jasc Software.
    • We all try our best to help each other out, but we don't have all the answers.

  15. Okay, I read all the FAQs and didn't find the answer I needed, now what?
    • If you still have a question regarding the use of the Message Forum, please e-mail forum@pspug.org.
